In his 2nd season out of Illinois, the speedy Lewis, who inked a five-year
contract extension on 10/28/04, is the team's 4th WR. Also a key contributor on
special teams, Lewis was one of six undrafted free agents to make the opening
day roster in 2003. Lewis posted career highs in receptions (17) and receiving
yds. (183) in 2004.

including a 45-yd. bomb from QB Donovan McNabb, which led to an Eagles TD.
Notched his first career postseason rush as he took a pitch from McNabb and
raced 10-yds. for an Eagles first down
- Posted 2 catches for 64 yds. including a 52-yd. strike from McNabb in the
Divisional Playoff game vs. Min. (1/16). The catch was the longest in Eagles
playoff history since 1992 (WR Fred Barnett-57 yds.) and led to an eventual
Eagles TD
- Notched a career-high 6 receptions for 53 yds. va. Cin. (1/2)
- Snagged a 25-yd. post pattern from Donovan McNabb at Was. (12/12). The play
led to an Eagles TD on the next play from scrimmage
- Had a critical 3rd down reception in the 2nd qtr. at Cle. (10/24) on a 24- yd.

- In the first game in his home-state, Lewis, a native of Matteson, Il.,
recorded his first rush attempt taking a double-reverse for 11 yds. and a 1st
down
- In his first NFL season, the speedy Lewis showed a great deal of potential as
a reserve wide receiver (6-95) and special teamer (11 tackles). Lewis was one of
six rookie free agents to make the opening day roster a year ago.

Lewis was not your typical jock as a youngster, in fact, he was on the chess
team in junior high as well as in high school. He learned to play from his
father and his claim to fame was that he held the number one board in 6th grade
for two weeks before he was eventually beaten.
"I want to go play against the old guys in the park with the large boards on top
of buckets," said Lewis of his future plans in the world of chess.
In the spring, he brought his board skills to the Eagles Youth
Partnership Chess Tournament. The tournament benefits the many programs that EYP
has established to help the youth of Philadelphia.

as a freshman at Illinois because when he ran, his feet moved east and west. Now
referred to as "G-Lew" by his Eagle teammates
- Sang "Take Me Out to the
Ballgame" at Wrigley Field with four Illini teammates and his former coach, Ron
Turner. "I watched the tape and you can tell that I was off key," said Lewis

- Married and resides in Chicago in the offseason
- Attended Rich South HS in Matteson, IL. Caught 56 passes for 880
yards and 13 TDs during his senior season which concluded with all-conference,
all-area, and all-state selection by the Chicago Tribune
- With no scholarship
offers, decided to walk on at Illinois because his cousin, Walter Young (a WR
with Carolina), was there
- Earned a degree in speech communications

COLLEGE:
A former walk-on, he finished his career
with 103 recepts., to rank 10th on Illinois all-time list, 1,456 receiving yards
(8th) and 12 TDs. Served as the Illini's third receiver as a senior and finished
the 2002 season ranked 3rd on the team with 38 receptions for 538 yards and 4
TDs. Returned 6 kicks for 86 yds. in 2001.
